Cooking has started to become a hobby, once a month I am trying to cook something new, mostly it's been baking but it's been good to go through the cookbooks and look at what I want to make next. Sometimes it depends on if there's any surplus veg at mums, like with the courgette and lemon loaf and the beetroot brownies, other times it can just be something I fancy making.

I really like that idea, to get out of your comfort zone when it comes to cooking. Just do something extra, but also new .. it is a great way to not just learn or tweak an existing skill. But you might just surprise yourself!

There's a new craft shop opened and they're open late tonight so I might have to go visit it.

That sounds nice, don't forget to keep proper distance and to wear a mask :) Let us know if you found some fun things at the shop.

I was rather underwhelmed by it, got a couple of bits for the Christmas shoebox, but nothing for me.

@Nix how's the jigsaw hobby coming along? :p

Still, a few things! It was fun to try at least ? :)

My new hobby is just to find some healthy mindset and move on with life, trying to be there for 'me'. It's tough! But it will open up space for me to get things in order and then make room for hobbies to be more fun again.

Baby steps right?

Is collecting cookbooks a hobby, as I seem to have quite a collection now, especially as they're giving them away free! I picked up a Doctor Who one the other day, I've flicked through it and there's nothing I would make, but still a Doctor Who cookbook!

I am doing "okay" with calligraphy, if I am motivated and am given the time. I no longer have a handwriting, computers have ruined that haha

Well I'm back building Lego! It's actually a set I gave mum for her birthday, she dismantled it so now I'm rebuilding it, however it's harder for me as it's all mixed pieces rather than bagged like in the instructions. Ah well, it's the Statue of Liberty, so a big set and it'll keep me going for a few days after work.

That is pretty amazing, sounds like fun. Maybe even more so because now you have some experience, but all the bits are mixed up.

My hobby this summer will be to clean and figure out all the things I got from the farm. ooh goood.

Crocheting is my hobby. I find it faster than knitting. I have crocheted baby blanket and woolen mufflers......these are pretty easy to get done....not complicated at all. Beginners can definitely make these. My fingers get good exercise with crocheting. Anyone here interested in crochet?

Gardening is my hobby. Of late I have learnt how to grow plants from leaf cuttings. During the lockdown I have been experimenting with different modes of vegetative propagation in plants. It is a great feeling to see tiny roots develop in them. I have even tried my hand at Bonsai creation. I will be able to see the result only after some time. Some YT tutorials are really great in explaining even the minutest details.

I got into those small puzzle toys years back. Like the cheap plastic toys that can be taken apart and put back together. They were like fidget toys before fidget toys became a thing. I think they're like riddle toys or puzzle toys idk what to call them. They're fun though and can be a challenge to put together and take apart.

Interesting! We always think it’s an old lady task but I love it. I can make scarf and gloves as gift to others. It is very interesting hobby and people love hand knitting gifts. Once you start knitting, you may addict of this your fingers love to move with strings and pattern. It’s really simple cheap and source of mind relaxing.

When i was in middle school we had a class where I had to learn how to do this. It's one of my secret skills. Though I am sure by now I have to re-learn it. haha

I'm doing a Tunisian crochet course on Thursday, don't let me forget!
Reminder!

;D

I am on a balcony, so my garden is not really existing. It's a hobby I'd love to pick up. Build a little mini biome that can survive the south side sun blasting on it.

I tried my hand at Calligraphy. I know I need more practice.

You're amazing. That really looks fantastic. Reminds me of my own little skill:

Tiny puzzles are fun to collect, I have a few, and they're pretty tough - not sure it's the same as what you mean, but the ones I have are interesting and fun; almost a fidget.

It's great for training micro muscles, worth to do at any age in my opinion.

I bought another jigsaw to do recently, haven't started it yet, still need to clear my desk from the lego making, cooking is still going well though, trying new foods especially. I might've gained another cook book or two as well!

Finally got my loom knitting out again last night, however I can't find the hook for it so used a crochet hook and I'm not sure if it's going to work
