My Dad is Scottish so it's a bit poor of me I've never been!
I could figure out how to travel to the UK in the future, relax a day at your place to rest my eyes, then we road trip somehow together to a mountain in Scotland, find a luxury airbnb to stay for a weekend, and spend a day exploring the area, get some dinner, relax the next day, go shopping, have another dinner, and travel home where I get dropped off to travel back to the Netherlands.

If we do it before we're both 60, then we don't break our hips etc.

and no, I dotn wanna go hike up a mountain, those days are behind me.

You might wanna add in a stop on the way to and from Scotland, assuming you're going via train, or numb bums!

3 weeks to go, not sure how much money to take, only breakfast is included. Anyone been to Antwerp, is it expensive?

Nearly 2 decades ago, it's small but worth the walk around. I do not know how it is now. It's just another big city known to have tourism. Just stay away from big streets if you want a sandwich or coffee. 5 minutes further away usually there are the regular cool spots that have the same stuff for less money.

We went to a few different places, it's an easily walkable city. Enjoyed the chocolate museum, good interactive tour and chocolate tasting!

Today however we crossed the border for the Zundert flower parade. That was amazing, huge flower sculptures with moving parts. I'll post up some photos when I get home.

I was worried about this trip, going with mother, but I don't think she'd ever taken as many photos! If anyone gets the chance I'd recommend going to see it. And I got sunburnt!

I turn 40 in a few years and want to go on a trip somewhere that year. I did think about going to Scotland as I've not been there, but I'm tempted to go abroad instead. Probably no further than Europe but I need ideas.

Iceland is tempting me, but so is Greece!

So my mother and I talked about it, and we're going to New York! A week there with a trip to Niagara Falls.

The Iceland ones are apparently really good for that. I might see how this one goes in September, then look at doing one of those after the New York trip.
