So I really need a new job, trouble is I live in a small town, not a lot of places to work here. Also I don't know what I could do either, here a lot of people come to retire, so plenty of care jobs and I've been there done that, never want to again! I've mostly stuck to retail, I don't really enjoy it, but it's something I know I can do, however it doesn't pay well and there's really not a lot of it about. I really want to retrain but again, what could I train in? I'm not good with answering phones, so most office based stuff is out.

In an ideal world I would be good enough at my crafting to sell that and me self employed, but I can't see that happening for a very long time.

I have no idea where you are located, but if you are in the US your state should have a workforce website where you can be linked to job listings that are legitimate. I am going through a job change myself. I have a hobby (freelance press photographer) that has put me in some amazing situations but it hardly pays the bills and is not steady work. It's too bad because I love it.

Our library is mostly run by volunteers these days, and the stationary shop is run by about 2 people, same kinda deal as where I currently work, I guess I could keep an eye out for Hobbycraft jobs.

I'm UK based and yeah there's loads of websites to use for jobs. It's just a case of small town living and there's not a lot available, I just want to be able to find something that I will enjoy

Instead of hoping to find something you enjoy, maybe you should decide what you enjoy and then try to find something. Sounds like you've done several things so far that you don't like. Would you be willing to relocate in order to have a job you enjoy?

It's been a year, almost, and I am really curious if you have been able to make some progress on this (and sorry if you haven't).

What about part time work from home. Make things you can sell on your own website, Etsy, eBay, .. ?
Even if you do have another job you can prepare loads of work one afternoon, do administration one evening. Prep packages for shipping the other day, and ship them by the end of the week. And still have the weekend to yourself.

well, noting if you still need a job, im a java developer, not giving what i make out to the public, but in general the AVERAGE wages are 149k/year (not including taxes) and can be more or less, if you got spare time, i can fully recommend that
