War. War never changes.

When we first heard Ron Perlman say this line 20 years ago, nobody could have guessed that the Fallout would develop into the huge video game franchise that it is today. When Fallout 4 was being released, the whole world knew about it, but back in 1997, it was just one of the many RPGs released on the market. Many of them faded into obscurity, but Fallout has remained with us to this day.

What was so special about first Fallout that left such a lasting impression on the gamers? Many will say that it wasn't even Fallout 1 that made the franchise famous, but that it was its successor, Fallout 2. Still, Fallout 1 is important because it managed to make bleak and desperate post-apocalypse setting fun and interesting to explore. Characters, dialogues, plot and many different quests managed to draw in gamers and they wouldn't leave until they would again hear Ron Perlman narrate the game's epilog.

This goes to show that the great and compelling story is what turns the game from good to classic one. If you look at the top-list of RPG games, Fallout 1 or 2 will almost always be on them, alongside such jewels as Deus Ex, Baldur's Gate, KOTOR etc. All of this games share one thing in common - amazing and well-written stories.

So, let us take off our hats for brilliant Black Isle studio that brought us this game that still lives with us to this day. And by the looks of it, Fallout franchise is here to stay for a long time.

I really like it when a game has a storyline to it as well, open worlds, and things to explore. So I can see myself play all the fallout games again at some point. Nice write-up, thank you CrayCray. Keep it up!
