Since BioWare released the minimum specs for SWTOR a few months back, some people are still in the dark about if their rig can handle the game or not, as many of us are not PC hardware gurus. Here's a rundown:

Minimum system requirements for <acronym title="Star Wars: The Old Republic">SWTOR</acronym>:

OS: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4000 or better / Intel Core2 Duo Processor 2.0 Ghz or better

RAM: At least 1.5 GB or better for XP / 2 GB or better for Windows Vista/7 / <acronym title="Price Check">PC</acronym>'s using built in graphic chipsets 2 GB RAM is recommended.

Hard Drive: At least 34 GB free space

Optical Drive: 8x DVD-ROM or better

Video: ATI XT800 or better / NVIDIA 7800 or better / Intel 4100 or better. 256 MB minimum video RAM, shader 3.0 or better fully compatible graphics card.

To help aid you in your quest to find out if you can run the game or not, SRL has a handy tool on their website you can use to see what's what:

That said, some machines with lesser specs *may* have been able to run the game, at the bare minimum settings, and with no other programs running...

Just a quick correction, I'm not able to check at the moment but I believe it should be at least 30 gigs of space on the hard drive to install. You have the CD-rom specs under the hard drive category in which case won't even be necessary for those of us who got the digital download! ;)

Thanks for the catch! The post has been updated, and you are correct about the disk space.
