    Change

This is a poem I wrote atleast a year ago. It's not about me, so don't read too much into it. I know it's not exactly the happiest thing ever written, but feel free to comment, although I probably won't rewrite it, but suggestions/criticism are welcome!

    "Change"

    Every tear I?ve shed
    Every drop I?ve bled
    Every day I?ve wasted
    Being cold and gray

    I wish I had a dime
    For every song I?ve sang
    For every tear I?ve shed
    For every drop I?ve bled
    Then I?d be a millionaire

    For every day I live
For how ever long I stay
    The clouds will hang about
    My sunshine turns to gray

    ?Don?t worry, my child.?
    She says with a smile
    ?Things will get better.
    The sun will come again.?
Laugh it off, shove it aside
It can?t be true, not with this
Not with all this collecting change
    For every day I?ve cried.

    Rip it to shreds
    Push it aside
    The countless days
    I?ve sat around and cried
    Cut deeper than my skin
    Collecting change

    Soon I?ll be rich
    Soon I?ll cash it in
    Perhaps, after all
    It still has some worth
    Maybe it?ll cleanse the blood
    - my deepest light forsaken sin

Thanks :p Old poems are always fun to read over again. Sometimes you want to kick yourself in the nuts because they're so bad, or maybe that's just me :D

I know what you mean :D At the time it's like, "Oh, I am GOOD". Then afterward, "Oh, I'm an idiot..." ;)

I don't think it looks like that to other people, though. At least I hope not!

It's a very good poem Midnight.

It's a dark poem. I've read it and reread it many times, trying to grasp the emotion behind it and the message being conveyed.

I'm still not sure about the message yet, that's why I've waited til now to post an opinion on it...sorry.
Every poem has a message and I've just been trying to decipher the message behind this one.
Either way, it's a good poem.

I was trying to do the same thing.

I just read it, and it kind of hit me. I think it's trying to convey the message that he is thinking about his past life, all that has gone wrong, and how he thinks it must get better. Like he is reading the past, and looking for the future. :)

    Maybe I am wrong.

Put that poem to a guitar rift, and you would have a decent song.
