    Han

After a few minutes the console informed me that it was now safe to be out of your seat. I leaned my head back to speak into the cabin.

"This is your captain speaking," I said in a very corny voice. "It's now safe to stand up and move about the cabin if you wish. All except for Boba Fett because he's a stinking schutta..."

    Leia

My head buzzed with each new exercise that Obi...Master Obi-wan ran me through. They were simple things, clearing my mind, breathing, stretching out with my feelings. At one point before we got the all clear to move he removed his crystal from his lightsaber and let me hold it, concentrate on the warmth that I felt from it. It somehow all felt...familiar...as if something I'd always felt at the edge of my conscienceness was snapping into place.

I ignored Han's childish snap at Fett and stood up as soon as Master Obi-wan told me to. He handed me Skywalker's lightsaber then dug into the supply bag that HK-47 had brought with him from G0-T0's ship, full of Jedi artifacts, I couldn't help but wonder what he was getting. When he stood he revealed a small sphere, it floated in the air as soon as he tossed it.

"A Jedi training remote," he said. "It will fire a small laser blast at you, not enough to wound you but it will sting if it hits."

    "And you want me too..."

"Feel the Force, remember what I've helped you do already, use the lightsaber to deflect the blast."

"I don't know if I'm ready for this..."

"You can do it Leia," his voice came out in a tone that reminded me of my father. "Believe in yourself and in the Force"

I took a breath and nodded. Obi-wan signalled with his hand and the remote started moving, almost quicker than I could see for a couple of seconds...then I felt the laser blast bite into my shoulder...

    "Kriff!" I gritted my teeth.

I laughed out loud as I saw Leia take the blast from the remote. She gave me a harsh look which I ignored.

"Kooky religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good old fashioned blaster at your side, Princess," I said...

I chose not to comment on Captain Solo's words. Best let Leia defend the Force herself, best to see how she would do it and how much she believed in it.

"You don't believe in the Force?" she questioned.

"I've been flying around this galaxy for many years and I've seen a lot of wierd stuff," I replied. "But I've seen no evidence of some all-powerful being or mystical power shaping it. There's no 'great energy' shaping my destiny..."

    Obi-wan[/b]

I opened my mouth to start further the lesson and along the way prove a point to Solo but Leia interrupted me before I could speak.

"How can you say that? After everything that has happened. After we go looking for Obi-wan, only to just "happen" to be kidnapped by his own captor, and after we find him miraculously preserved in the prime of his life? How can you account for all of those coincidences?"

I smiled. She had her mother's fire in her.

    Leia

I was about to challenge him again but Obi-wan stood. "In my experience there is no such thing as luck."

My eyes fell to his hands, he had a pilot's helmet in his hands and he was now walking toward me. "I suggest you try again," Next thing I knew I had the helmet on my head and couldn't see. "But this time rely on your instincts."

"But with the blast shield down I can't see anything," I said. "How will I..."

"Your eyes can deceive you, don't trust them. I don't."

    "You can't."

    "And somehow I manage."

    "Okay..."

I took a breath and then another when I heard the remote activate and I held the lightsaber up. I heard the laser blast and tried to deflect it but it struck me in the leg. I heard Han laugh and I gritted my teeth. I had half a mind to rip this helmet off and punch him in the face, see if he liked being blindsided.

"Remeber a Jedi can feel the Force flowing through her," Obi-wan's words came. "Stretch out with your feelings."

I sighed and thought of the warmth of the crystal and the music that I almost thought it had made...I took a breath, there was a noise, my head followed it for half a moment I thought I saw the remote, moving slowly. It fired and I reacted, again and again. Then I heard it dectivate. I took the helmet off and looked. I had deflected three blasts. Obi-wan was beaming.

"You see? You can do it."

Sorry I should have given you a heads up. We can't get to Alderaan just yet. There's still some stuff I want to cover with the characters on the Falcon before they arrive. One of those is recovering Obi-wan's sight, for example. So I'm gonna need an edit.

    Fett:

I hadn't spoken since the incident on the yaucht. I had no reason to. Beyond that, my mind was to muddled, to wrapped up in my own thoughts. Stupid. I had had the perfect opportunity back on the ship. A few seconds and I would have had what I wanted. Dad's killer would finally be in a grave.

But I'd hesitated. I'd screwed up. And now my chance was gone. Locked up on Solo's rusty bucket with the Princess, a sentient Assassian Droid, Solo and the Wookie, a Jedi who claimed to be 4000 years old and still looked in her prime, and Kenobi. The odds were to stacked against me.

My only option was to stick close to Kenobi, to get him away from the others. And to do THAT they had to trust me.

Or trust me as much as they knew they COULD trust me. And if I came off as to chummy with them, they'd only get more suspicous. No, better to take a page from my "brothers" playbook. Get close to him, make him trust me ... and then knife him in the heart when his back was turned.

I wouldn't let some foolish sense of "honor" get in the way next time.

Watching the Princess play with her new toy, I shook my head, idly polishing the barrel of one of my father's blasters, carefully maintaining the chrome finish.

"As much as I hate to admit it, the scruffy nerfherder is right. Droids are simple, particularly cheap little remotes like that one. Taking on a live human, a real marksman ... you'd be dead in seconds."

Glancing at the blind Kenobi, I let a grin pull at my lips under my helmet. "Of course, your buddies on Galidraan learned that the hard way, didn't they? How many did Jango kill again?"

Re: Episode IV - Hope Returns

    Leia

Even though Obi-wan couldn't see him I saw the Jedi narrow at Fett's direction. He didn't look angry, mostly confused would be what I would guess. I got the impression that Obi-wan wasn't quite sure what to make of Fett. He generally had seemed to be congenial toward the mandalorian but there was a tension between them that I couldn't explain and it seemed Obi-wan didn't entirely understand it either.

"Yes, well," he finally said. "I would not pretend to fathom Jango's bodycount, many Jedi died on Galidraan."

Obi-wan then turned to me. "And it brings up a very important lesson. The Jedi are not invincible. Each Jedi Knight must be willing to sacrifice his or her own life. You cannot control what destiny the Force has for you but if you are called to die, so long as you follow the Will of the Force, then you will die with the knowledge that you gave your life for something greater than yourself, that you did not die for something as trivial and fleeting as money."

    Luke

I was stuffed in this room with nothing but my own thoughts. I was still angry and confused. I didn't know what to think. I didn't trust Vader, but could he be tellking the truth? I just didn't know who to believe. I barely knew anyone I had been travelling with after all. But Bail Organa seemed so sincere. He spoke of Obi Wan highly, but Uncle Owen shared a different view. Then again could I believe anything my late Uncle told me? He hid the fact that my father was a Jedi, what else could he have been hiding? Maybe he knew what Obi Wan had done, and just wanted to protect me? It was all too much to take in.

Suddenly the door opened and an Imperial officer dressed in a neat light grey uniform entered. "Lord Vader has told me to give this to you."

I stared at the man for a moment. Was he evil? Was he good? What did I really know of the Empire? All my life I have spent on Tatooine, knowing little other than what I had heard from the spacers that came into the local ports about the Galaxy as a whole. Other than that all I had known was moisture farming and how to fly a ship. Eventually I spoke. "What is it?" My tone was flat. I was tired, both physically and emotionally.

"It is evidence. It shows your father and how he remained loyal to the Chancellor, even when the Jedi betrayed him."

I took the datascreen from the Imperial officer. He gave me a quick nod and exitted. I stared at the datascreen in front of me. Maybe this would help me figure out what was going on, the truth. I was sick of stories. I needed evidence. I quickly figured out how to play the video clip. There was a man, cowering on the ground as another, a Jedi with a purple bladed lightsaber, stood over him. That must have been Chancellor Palpatine. His face looked tired and worn, something that could be expected of someone under such pressure as he was no doubt. But it looked almost mutated. Could the Jedi have done that to him. The Jedi raised his lightsaber in the air, preparing to strike down, but suddenly another blade came into view, severing his arm. It was a blue blade.

The figure then came into full view. He looked familiar. It was only then I realised I was looking at my father. My father... he was protecting the Chancellor. The picture then frazzled out. So my father did remain loyal. Did the Jedi really betray the Chancellor? Were they capable of such a thing? This indeed helped clear my mind, but not enough. There was no Obi Wan, no proof of Vader's accusations. I would need more time to think. That wouldn't be hard. I had nothing better to do in here....

Ryan, I appreciate you moving the story along but let me handle Luke since he's my character. If you want you can take control of Han back, I was just botting him because you weren't there.

"Ha!" I laughed. "Look, I don't know where you got all this, old man, but if there's one thing I know it's that money holds the galaxy together. You aren't going to find more than a handfull of people willing to fight for you without some kind of compensation."

"You mean someone like you?" Chewie called from the cockpit. I scowled as I heard him laughing.

"Laugh it up, fur-ball!" I yelled back. "Traitor..."

Re: Episode IV - Hope Returns

((Forgive me any mistakes I make while posting. It’s kinda hard coming into an RP half way through and taking a developed character. :3))

    Leia

The princess rolled her eyes at the banter between the other three males on the ship and looked at the Jedi for a moment. He seemed to be reflective for a moment as if thinking about something before he said something about a body count and Jedi. For a moment, just for a brief moment, Leia wondered if someone like Kenobi could hate a man such as Fett. But this was a fleeting thought and since the man who stood before he was a Jedi it hardly seemed possible to her for him to even feel an emotion like that.

As the man next to her start to speak again, the young woman returned her attention to him. There was no point pondering the thoughts of the two rivals. Their business, whatever it was, was their own. Who was she to interfere in the going ons of a Jedi and a bounty hunter? Especially ones with histories as long as theirs.

Leia nodded as she filed this information away in her memories. She was certain that this was advice that she would have to follow at some stage and it was some good advice too. The woman stole a glance over at Solo when Kenobi mentioned money and wondered of the fool would speak.

"Ha! Look, I don't know where you got all this, old man, but if there's one thing I know it's that money holds the galaxy together. You aren't going to find more than a handfull of people willing to fight for you without some kind of compensation."

She once again rolled her eyes at the man’s comments and wondered, not for the first time, how someone could stand being around someone so infuriating. Had she had it her way she would not have picked such an arrogant fool of a man to be their pilot. As it was she was still a little uncertain at his choice for co-pilot or the company he kept.

“Look, Flyboy,” she said finally tiring of Han’s taunts and laughter. “Why do you go do something useful some place away from me? Since you wish your reward so much why don’t you work on getting me to Alderaan a little faster?”

Leia knew it probably wasn’t possible to do such a thing as ship was probably going as fast it could, but just looking at the man could infuriate her.

"I think you'll find there are a great many people that will fight without money," I said at Solo's direction. "Men, women, and all sapients will fight if they feel the cause is just, and if they have hope that they can succeed. All they need is a light to show them the way. For over a thousand generations the Jedi were that light. Now they are all but extinct. But with women like Leia, and also young men like Luke you shall find that fire is easy to rekindle. They will be the beacon that leads this galaxy back into freedom, you will see my friend."

I took a breath...there was a tremor in the Force, we were getting close to our destination. I turned to Leia, "You ought to continue with your exercises...I need to go meditate...there is a disturbance in the Force."

"Yeah, you go meditate on your 'disturbance,' old man," I scoffed. "Either way, we'll be at Alderaan soon."

I went into the cockpit and refocused myself on checking the Falcon's systems. But try as I might I couldn't get what the old man said out of my head. What he said was right, I should know since I was like that once. But that was when I was younger, more stupid, and when Bria Tharen was alive. Don't get me wrong, I was angry about her death at the Empire's hands but I wasn't dumb enough to go looking for trouble unless I had good chances of success and/or a substantial reward. And the way things were going, my chances of success were becoming slimmer and less likely...

Re: Episode IV - Hope Returns

ooc: I'm going to temporarily take control of Arden. Just until Abby can come back

    Obi-wan

I took the momentary calm to excuse myself and exit the room. As I left I heard the wookiee, Chewbacca offer a game of Dejarick to HK-47...if anybody else had done that I might have suggested it was a bad idea, but if anyone could handle the droid it was Chewbacca.

The Force alerted me to any immediate obstacles that might have been in my path but that didn't mean I was safe from occasionally stumbling a bit. I kept feeling that I should have had my vision by now, but I'd been frozen for decades...my vision could take as much as a few months to a year to come back...or it might never. While I could function I wasn't nearly as powerful as I would be with my sight, and in these circumstances I couldn't afford that.

I found myself in what felt like it could be the cargo hold. It would be secluded enough for me to get a meditative state. I guided myself around some cargo containers and then sat down cross legged. I took in a deep breath and let the Force flow out of it. Letting my feelings come to the fore and seep out.

The past swept past me...Qui-gon, Anakin...Padme...the duel on Mustafar...I saw the children...things hadn't turned out the way they were supposed to...what had happpened? Somewhere along the way destinies changed and a new more uncertain future as born. What would become of us all in this? How did Arden Halycon play into it?

I tried to focus the Force onto my eyes and heal them...but it wasn't working...it was as if there was a block preventing me from doing so. I opened them. Nothing but blackness. I frowned and tried again, clearing my mind, trying to feel the energy but not think about it.

    "LIAR! You're with him!"
    "NO! Anakin no please!"
"You brought him here to kill me!"
    "Let her go Anakin!"

My eyes snapped open. Still nothing. Now I was even less focused than before. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes....

    "YOU WERE THE CHOSEN ONE!

I gritted my teeth and shook my head as I opened my eyes. It was no good. I wasn't going to be able to do anything. I was so focused on that time that I couldn't initiate a healing trance...and I didn't notice the footsteps in the room until I heard someone sit down in front of me.

"You blame yourself for what happened to the Jedi don't you?" Arden's voice came. "I can see it written all over you, and every time you talk about your past."

"Darth Vader," I said after a moment. It was pointless to try and hide it from her. "Vader, was supposed to be the Chosen One. Instead he became a Sith and helped his Master, the Emperor, hunt down and kill the Jedi. Darth Vader had been my padawan learner. It is because of me and my blindness to what was happening with him that he turned to evil. The Galaxy is now paying the price of my arrogance."

"Your padawan made his own choices. I'm sure you did the best you could when you trained him. That's all any Jedi can do. You are responsible for your own actions, not those of someone that has been turned to darkness."

I nodded. I'd thought that myself over the couple of years I spent in exile. But it was hard to accept. I recalled my study of history. And of Arden's story. "You had to deal with someone that had fallen as well. Did you ever manage to save Kreia?"

I could feel Arden's presence grow slightly colder. "I'm afraid Obi-wan that someone has to want to be saved in order to save them. Kreia did not want that. It all comes back to choice. Kreia could have healed her eyes but she chose to live without them, seeing her sight as a barrier. What about you?"

I cocked my head to the side instinctively. "You're suggesting I do the same?"

"No I'm saying you need to chose. What do you want Obi-wan Kenobi? What barrier is holding you back? Do you want to heal your eyes or do you want to live only by the Force?"

I took a long moment to think on this...it really was a matter of choice. Perhaps I was keeping myself from being healed. My shame, my pain of loss. All of them I used as a block to what I felt I needed. But there was only one answer to give.

"In other times I might have chosen to deal with this with nothing but my own mind and let the Force work it out on it's own. But I need to be at my strongest for what is to come. I need to be able to see."

"Need or want? You're not distinguishing the two. Does the Force need you to see? No. You can function well enough without it. So the question again is...do you want to see?"

I frowned...it had been a long time since I'd asked myself what I wanted. I took a breath and then nodded. "Yes. that is what I want."

"Then let me help you," she said and I felt her hands on my face, gently touching my eyes."

    "What are you?"

"Shhh, don't question, don't think, just concentrate on the Force and on being healed."

Before I could do anything I felt the Force flowing from her to me. I joined it with my own senses and concentrated as she told me to. I felt her life, the pain she still deep down carried with her, as well as the new pain she harbored for her old life, the one that slipped away while she slept. But there was hope and strength. And the promise of the future...a warm sun and a melody on the wind. The Force. I breathed slowly and felt her hands move from my eyes. I opened them...

A woman with scarlet hair sat before me with a smile on her face, reflecting me in her green eyes. I blinked and the vision did not pass. I held out a hand, I could see it just fine. I looked at her again...

"You're...beautiful..." the words came out..."That is...thank you master Halycon."

Once I finished with it, the name and data would disapear, a little piece of programing genius I had gotten from a holo-net tech years ago. That tech was no longer around ... or at least, anywhere that could get holo-net access, so for the most part it was safe.

Going through a number of blind drops and back trails, I found my way to the link I had set up with Drek, hidden in the dead space of the holo-net. Within a matter of minutes, the image of the nemodian flickered onto the holo-screen. He looked ... haggard, or as much as that term could be used on a Nemodian. "Drek. What have you got for me?"

The nemodian's eyes were frantic, darting at shadows, and I found my hand drifting to the controls, ready to cut the link. Something was wrong .... Very wrong. "Fett! What did you get me into!? Imperial Sniffer's are hounding after me!"

My blood running cold, I tightened my grip on the controls. If they were onto Drek, they could be onto me. "Calm down. Do they know about me?""

The nemodian's head shook so hard I thought it was going to fly off. "No, no! That was easy. Its they other thing!"

Other thing? For a moment I had to think before I remembered the second project I had given him, the tracing of large quantities of material. "You found something?"

Again the Nemodian's head shook like a sabercat shaking its prey. "Enough that ISB is after me! They must have caught up to my trail during my sweep of Kuat. They've been hounding me ever since!"

Scowling, I narrowed my eyes beneath my helmet. "Drek, what did you find?"

Perhaps my tone snapped the Nemodian out of his paranoia, because now he was actually looking at me. "... They're making something massive. They have enough material to make an entire fleet of Star Destroyer's and still have enough left over for an entire compliment of escort craft. It was all being sent to the Despayre system, but all shipments stopped about a month ago. Whatever they were working on, its finished and on the move."

"... Your fee's being transfered now. I suggest you get off planet."

Drek's eyes narrowed. "Already am. And this is it Fett. I'm not doing any more work for you."

Cutting the feed, I of course sent the payment, but from a special account, one that would point anyone who tracked it to Dorgos the Hutt on Tallun. The account was foolproof ... because it actually WAS Dorgos. Another little something I had gotten from a friendly man low on the totem pole.

Making another call, I got into contact with another contact on Nar Shadaa, giving him a simple instruction. "Drek needs to have an accident. Make it painless. He at least did good work."

The feed was cut as soon as I finished, but I knew by tonight Drek would no longer have to worry about ISB. It was a shame, but necessary. If they caught up to him, there was no way my name would be kept out of it. I couldn't afford to be known to be involved.
