Free Canva Alternatives?

I like designing my own posters, invites, social media pics and even infographics. I use Canva mostly, but I'm starting to think that it's very limited when it comes to colors and graphics so I want to find an alternative. Can anyone here suggest one?

Besides the obvious: Adobe InDesign, I can imagine people would consider using things like Vectr maybe? or StenCil, or Gravit Designer
