I don't see why people make games so difficult to get through in the first place. It's like they're inviting players to use cheats to spare themselves the frustration. And, at the same time, cheating has always been frowned upon among the "true" gamers who take it upon themselves to verbally attack anyone who uses cheats.

Related to the topic of this thread and my previous post here. I've been looking for some good Half-Life mods and found an interesting one that's supposed to be a bigger and much harder version of the Hazard Course training level from the original game that serves to familiarize you with the basic stuff you'll need to know to get through the game.

The author(s) of this mod which is called Hazardous Course 2 have really gone overboard with the difficulty and the frustration factor. I'm watching gameplay videos made by some guy / girl / alien / whatever ( :p ) who either has nerves of steel or doesn't have nerves at all. I haven't even tried to count how many times he / she died and how many attempts it took him / her to get through certain areas. Here's the first video in the series of I don't know how many videos in total:

So far I've made it up to part 16, and I must say, I have no idea what prevented the author from grabbing his / her computer and tossing it out the window in anger and frustration. If someone doesn't believe me, watch these two fine examples:

See what I mean? I think I'll skip this mod, thank you.  :mstickle: Bow ties are cool.

EDIT: I watched more videos and changed my mind. I'm going to download this mod and give it try. There's more to it than meets the eye at the first glance. I also found this little gem:

Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight! In Half-Life! With Lightsaber! ZOMG! :D

That trailer looks absolutely epic. Too bad I only own Half-Life 2 on the XBox 360...I'd really like to play this, I might consider buying Half-Life on the PC...

The Hazardous Course mod looks absolutely amazing also. I want it.  :s

    Here you go: http://www.planetphillip.com/posts/hazardous-course-2-half-life/

I already downloaded and installed it (along with that Star Wars and some other mods I found there), but haven't had the time to play it yet. You need to have Half-Life (the first one) installed for this mod to work. It should work on both disc and Steam version of the game. Which one do you have?

I forgot about this torent, but it should work: http://thepiratebay.se/torrent/5040138/Half-Life_2_NO-STEAM__no_crack__no_keygen___install_and_play

Now go out there and play HL2!!

If you ever play Black Mesa, make sure you play it with earphones and on hard mode, it's quite the experience. One day I plan on playing the entire series from start to finish. This is possible now because I just got the orange box!

Thanks for the link, but it doesn't work for me. It gives me an error that says Unable to complete secure transaction. Also, I'm not too keen on the idea of downloading anything from the Pirate Bay or any other site that distributes illegal content. Sorry.  :/

I'll get my hands on a legal copy of Half-Life 2 some day, somehow. ;)
