Do you think the price of vBulletin is worth it? If you ran a similar software and were going to charge people how much would you charge them?

Personally, VB is a waste of money but it's decent after a ton of modifications.

I haven't used it much, but from the looks of the website, I'd say no.

I would only charge so much, I don't think the price of a software could be over 200 dollars.

From a look out of the box stand point its so little to offer for the price I can get more out of IPB or Xen and pay lil less or about the same. and not only that VB has tooken a turn for the worst after 3.8 and i really dont care for it. after Phillip showed me xen i fell in love and i also love IPB those are the only 2 paid ones i will use.

well like Xenforo its 140 but once you add the addons it gets costly like copyright removal, resource / CM manager etc thats when it gets costly IPB the same way. I can see paying that to IPB or XEN because its worth it. you have to do so much with VB to get it suitable but XEN or IPB it looks and functionality is nice as it is.

I wish they would upgrade VB other then putting out stupid patches.

VB is to much $$ to be looking like it came out of the 90's. Needs upgrading, for example a new default theme and layout of the settings.

vbulletin 5 connect.. and after seeing the prices its not worth it.. I mean they are getting up there but i feel they are no where near what others are. Xen and IPB, both of them are coded correctly better than vb in my opinion.

I wouldn't even renew this one just for vBulletin 5. Not even worth it.

Why renew it if you aren't going to use the version of the software you buy?

I actually only had it for a few weeks and end up selling the entire account when I got my hands on it...I didn't think at that point I would put vBulletin on anything else until recently.
