Small CRT monitors with interlaced presentation of betamax or vhs tapes, or old ways of showing movies in the cinema. It adds to the nostalgia, but it's been twenty something years and we have UHD remastered extended director cut releases and what not. And how we have experienced a movie, a story, how we remember it, and what we think we 'saw it all 100%' is just wrong. I love watching movies that came out. As a kid vs an adult, context is new, placement, movie-making, .. acting, .. everything has a different meaning now. It's like the same movie, but to a whole new level. It's fun to recognize a style in a movie, or to know what they say has a meaning, or the message from the director is being made clear through political commentary, etc. I never thought I'd get so much out of a movie that I could once pay 2 bucks or 5 bucks for to see on tape or in the cinema.
