Those that were Forgotten - Out Of Character Discussion

The ooc thread for said RP

After the Jedi Civil war barely a hundred Jedi survived. The massacre on Kataar further decimated their ranks. Those that survived switched off their lightsabers and went into hiding. This is the story of those Jedi. How they survived in a Galaxy that did not need or want Jedi.

Two Jedi Knights find one another during this time of darkness and team up together to find others to help with survival. They are joined by Jedi and others all with different motives. Will they restore the Order, will they turn one another in for bounties? What destiny lies in wait for the Forgotten Jedi?

    Cast:

    Keyan Kyral: Green Dragon
    Artorus D'Uther: Supercapo
    Xarra Tarak: Rain
    Neko Vendis: Redmageneko
    Sangha Kahn:Redmageneko
    Laruel Ventes: Supercapo
    Silus Matare: Forgotten Honor

Note: Characters can be any Star Wars race, they can be former Jedi or any other "class" within the Star Wars universe. We'll get more plot specific after we get some players.

    Re: Those that were Forgotten

Alright guys! Now that I've gotten all the formalities taken care of we can get this little RP underway!

I've got an underlaying story in mind but it will remain fairly flexible. In the summary I set up the basic premise.

The Jedi Order is no more those few Jedi that survived the war and Kataar are in hiding. There's probably no more than thirty Jedi total. Certainly no masters. These guys are trying to survive now. All of them of course have their own desires and passions.

Keyan and Artorus know each other but none of the others. At least not well. We'll all have to have the characters meet one another along the way. GD and I will get it started and you guys can jump in when you feel there's a moment to do so.

    Any questions?

OK my characters are on Nar Shaada and Denon, so perhaps I should wait. Or should I come to you guys?

Your call. Most the action is going to happen on Coruscant for the time being. It might take us a bit to go anywhere else. GD and I will be introducing another character here soon. If you want one of your Jedi to be with that character then that could work.

    OK :D

Lets say Dorian Nyte and your character met previously, presumably on Denon, and have travelled to Coruscant for some reason or another?

I think I will leave Xarra to later in the RP as she is more of a loner and has a bit more of a story than Dorian.

Sounds good Ryan. Hey Nick I really need you to start telling me about things like what you did in your last couple of posts before you do them. I know you're just trying to have fun and introduce an interesting new aspect into the RP but as the GM I have a storyline in mind and whether you know it or not I'm working on brining it out while bringing everyone's characters into play at the same time.

I'm perfectly fine with you bringing this Dark Jedi character in but you doing it now completely derails the current plot in favor of what you want to do. You have to talk to me about things like this before you do them. I don't know how to be more clear on that.

Re: Those that were Forgotten - Out Of Character Discussion

I think it would do good for all of us to review the rules of gameplay so we can avoid further confusion. Also everyone remember to look to the ooc booth often for insturctions and ideas. Be sure to post any ideas you may have here so they can be included. If you want to get a message to me faster feel free to contact me on msn messenger.

Re: Those that were Forgotten - Out Of Character Discussion

I just want to apologize to everybody, especially Adam, for being such a pain in the you-know-what so early in the RP. It's the farthest thing from my intentions to do so. I just get so excited about something that most of the time I don't think about the repurcussions it might have, to my (and others) chagrin... So, again, I'm very very sorry! Please don't throw me out the window...

Re: Those that were Forgotten - Out Of Character Discussion

As I said in the other thread, it's alright. I understand, and I really want you to understand that I'm fine with you including this Sith Stalker idea. The only problem was the timing. Just try to talk to me in the ooc booth before you go ahead with a big idea. More often than not I'll approve it, but I have to manage the plotlines, this includes the overarching plot which I have in mind and subplots that anybody might want to include.

I love RPing characters with a harsh past. It makes them more interesting, no?

can't argue with that. It's why I like playing as Artorus. He's got a messed up past that always screws him over.

And eventually he's going to wise up and realize he's got to take control of his life, right? Kinda how Silus has to learn to put aside his differences and take one more chance at life?

Yeah he probably will. But not until he makes an even bigger mess of things. And even then Artorus is the type that would always struggle to do the right thing. His mischievous nature is too ingrained into him.

He's basically a precurser to Anakin Skywalker, neh? Heh. Where's Qui-gon Jinn when you need him, he was the only one who could really control or relate to Anakin.

No no no! *shudders* he's not like Anakin. Little Ani is a whiny little brat. Artorus is more like Han Solo, just a little dumber.

Re: Those that were Forgotten - Out Of Character Discussion

And way more immature. By the way, is Artorus' name a take on the legend of Arthur of England? I mean, Artorus=Arthur, and Uther was Arthur's father. If it is a play on the legend then it's a cool idea dude!

Re: Those that were Forgotten - Out Of Character Discussion

Yeah, Artorus is a play on Arthur. Though there's nothing kingly about Artorus the Jedi. I originally created the name for another character in a story I wrote, that Artorus is more of a play with Arthur. When I created this Jedi character I just imported the name because I like it.
