    Re: Those that were Forgotten

    Silus

The moment Artorus had mentioned my Echani heritage and actions speaking louder than words I knew what he was up to even before the droid pieces flew at me. Luckily, I was prepared for just a situation. With a snap-hiss my lightsaber sprang to life in my hand and I began cutting my way through the debris. It was quick, all too simple, really. In a moment I stood before Artorus with nothing between us but maybe seven feet of open space. Calmly, I handed my lightsaber, still active, to Artorus with the Force then approached close enough to have the tip of the black blade right under my chin.

"What do my actions say now?" I asked. In my own mind, I added, Other than I might regret this later...

I tossed the lightsaber back to him and charged at the same time, my own lightsaber leading the way. "You're actions say that you have no idea who I am. I'm certainly not the guy looking for respect or for you to show me how humble you are by not fighting me!"

I took a swing. "I think I have a pretty good bead on you Silus. Xianghua's right when she says that I can be pretty damn perceptive when I want to be. What I'm doing right now is giving you a chance to learn a bit more about me!"

I swung one handed, Silus blade met mine but my other hand was already coming up with my blaster in it.

I quickly caught Artorus' hand before he could finish raising it and tossed him over my shoulder sending him across the room. Artorus was quickly on his feet again and raised his blaster to fire, but all there was was an empty click and a slightly confused expression on Artorus' face. I raised my hand holding the ammo clip.

"Blasters are clumsy and random," I commented as I tossed the clip to Xianghua. "And all I'm learning is that you are immature, brash...and a dirty fighter."

I tossed my lightsaber along with my cloak to the side of the room while assuming an Echani combat pose.

"The only way to effectively show me who you are is to do it with your fists," I said. "Unless you're a coward, too..."

    Artorus

I grinned and tossed my blaster and lightsaber down. I stretched my neck to one side and then the other, letting the bones pop. "You know Silus, from the moment I met you, this is the first time I think I've liked you."

"Artorus stop it!" Xianghua shouted. "What are you trying to prove?"

"Maybe I don't want to prove anything," I said. "But if Silus really wants to come to an understanding with me, it won't happen through false words that neither of us really mean. So this is the way its going to be."

I assumed a standard fighting stance. "Now as to your claims lets see if we can't needle through them can't we?"

I jumped into the air and came down at him with my foot leading the way. "Brash? Yeah you could say that!" he caught my foot with his hands and threw me to the ground. I rolled out of the way and flipped to my feet. I came at him again with my left hand. "Immature? That's a matter of opinion. You should have seen me when I was a kid."

He easily parried the blow and jabbed me in the stomach, I doubled, coughing. My eyes went slightly blurry and I had to force them to stay open. I straightened up. Resumed my stance and came at him with my right fist.

"As to the dirty fighter bit?" He moved his hands to block my blow, I kept going. Palms made contact with my fist but they didn't stop my punch. It was going to take more than meat and bone to stop a punch from my mechanical arm. The prosthetic included part of my shoulder, which meant virtually the entire punch was done mechanically...I could punch through ferrocrete if I wanted to with the thing.

I broke through his defenses and my blow landed on his chest, sending him flying across the room and into the back wall.

"...Yeah, I guess I am a bit of dirty fighter."

Spitting out a bit of blood from my mouth I stood back up and popped my left shoulder back in place after it'd been dislocated by hitting the wall. I then assumed another combat stance.

"Hm. You always have a trick up your sleeve, it seems," I said, still with an emotionless expression. "Haven't had this kind of fight since that psychotic Zabrak on Naboo. Let's see what else you got, this time I move!"

I charged at Artorus then leapt in the air. I mentally grinned as Artorus brought his hands up to defend up high, but found that I'd landed just short of him on purpose. BAM! I upper-cutted his chin with my right fist, quickly following up with a left-cross across his cheek. Then jumping into the air again, I delivered a tornado kick that sent him spinning into the opposite wall!

"And for the record," I added. "This does not change the fact you still owe me 196,352 credits for my speeder!"

    Re: Those that were Forgotten

    Artorus

"Oh..." I held my head as I got up. "Tell you what big guy, I won't make you pay for the hospital bills that last attack is going to cost me. That should about even us up."

I straightened up...and looked at Silus. Was he using a new Force technique? There were four of him! Oh wait...that was just my head spinning. I took a breath and allowed a healing surge of energy flow from the Force. It of course wasn't enough to do anything against cuts and bruises but it at least allowed me to focus and see straight.

He had the upper hand. I had to give him that. I was no slouch in a fight, I really wasn't but he was ecchani trained. That was a definite edge. Not that I wasn't without my own of course, but my skills certainly didn't lie in unarmed combat. Not that, that was going to stop me.

I came at him again, letting my mechanical arm lead this time. He was wise to me though. he knew better than to let me connect with it. For every punch that I threw he blocked it it came from my left and dodged if it came from the right. The only advantage that it presnted me was that he knew he couldn't stop the mechanical arm so as long as I kept swinging it he had no choice but to retreat.

We kept backing up and up until he was against the back wall. I swung with my mechanical arm one last time, full force. Only his ecchani reflexes kept his head from caving in as he ducked out of the way. My fist impaled the wall. He looked at it and then me. Taking half a second to figure out what was going on.

    Half a second too much.

I retracted my fist and brought the pipe out along with it. A jet of water fired from the broken pipe and clapped him in the face, staggering him back as he tried to open his eyes. I pressed my advantage and slammed my knee into his stomach, grabbed his ankle and yanked him to the ground.

"So tell me what we've learned?" I crossed my arms across my chest.

I crossed my own arms and glanced over at the still spewing water pipe. "That you must really rack up the bills with everything you destroy.

"But," I conceded. "You are honest, for the most part."

After getting to my feet and brushing myself off I looked back at Artorus. The smug bastard was letting that little round of ours go to his head! He was very lucky I had held back from going beyond the first tier.

"Now what did you learn about me?"

    Re: Those that were Forgotten

ooc: I got to see the last one before you deleted it. Artorus really deserved it. But if you're ready to end the fight that's cool.

    Artorus

"Honest?" I raised my brow. "I must be losing my touch. What kind of gambler/smuggler/swoop racer would I be if I was honest?"

I crossed my arms and looked away. Unfortunetly away was right at Xianghua. She looked tired. She looked confused and somewhat dissappointed. "But I'm not going to argue with you. If you think I have an honest heart then there's nothing I can do to change that."

I looked back at Silus. "As to what I learned about you...not sure. I'm not ecchani nor have I trained in ecchani fighting techniques. So I don't know how to read people through combat. But I know this. I know you fight for what you believe in. I know you don't quit. I know you play along when others need you to. So now all that's left is to make a few things straight between us."

I faced him directly now. "I don't like you. From the moment we met you judged me. To your credit you've recognized you were wrong to do that, but that doesn't change the fact that you were so quick to judge me but didn't bat an eye at opening your arms to the Mandalorian. I may not play everything straight but I've never murdered, and I've never tortured. Keep in mind that he has and has shown no remorse. I'm not on the mission anymore so it doesn't matter to me if he goes with you. But let me tell you this last thing."

I stepped up closer. "If he hurts Keyan or Xianghua, if I find out that he even made them uncomfortable...I'm coming after him and you. And next time, I won't be sporting and enter a fight I know I can't win like I did today. Next time I'll play for keeps."

I nodded. I really didn't expect anything less of the most immature Jedi I'd ever met. That said, I knew I could trust him in the future.

"I'll remember to tell him the next time I see him," I said referring to Juliarus. "And you're partly wrong, by the way. Sareth is thinking about putting us back on the mission. Xianghua convinced her to give us a second chance.

"That said," I continued, placing my hand on Artorus' shoulder. "If you won't pay me the money you owe then this--" I emphasized "this" with a roundhouse knee to the groin that would have toppled a fully grown alpha male wookiee before turning and walking away. "--will have to do, for now."

I allowed myself to grin broadly as I heard the sounds of Artorus groaning and spasming on the floor of the training room. "I guess I can be a bit of a dirty fighter, too..."

ooc: Um...okay he didn't deserve after the fight though. That was completely uncalled for.

    Xianghua

"You schutta!" I snapped as Artorus twitched on the ground. "You weren't in combat! He had gotten as close to making nice with you as he was going to get! Good grief!"

I stormed up to Silus. "What the Hell is wrong with you!? You keep on calling him immature and deride him and then you go and pull stunts like that!? Who's immature? He fought you on your terms, knowing that he couldn't beat you and now you take advantage of him like this?"

    "Xianghua..." Artorus coughed.

"No! You know what you're an idiot Artorus... but this guy! I really can't believe you! Okay you know what? I was going to stay out of it but let's have it out right now. What did Artorus do to you to earn your ire? What the HELL did he do to you personally!? At least he wasn't going to sell that smut he made with the Chancellor's daughters. It was all a front. You would have done it if I hadn't stopped me. Artorus might not be a shining example but he's never hit a woman out of rage before. The same can't be said about you! So lay off him! He's trying to protect his friends from what he sees as a very real threat. A threat that you have yet to prove isn't real!"

"He...he hit you?" Artorus was up now, his hands on his knees. "You've got some nerve pal. Only a special kind of scum hits a woman"

    Aw, no fair...

    Silus

I was a little taken aback from Xianghua's ire. But the lady asked for it, so I answered.

"He blew up my speeder, didn't I tell you that already?"

ooc: Sorry but that's how Xiang and Artorus would react to a move like that.

    Artorus

"For the last time. It wasn't me who blew up your speeder," I walked over to Xianghua...kind of. The word "walk" was a bit too generous. More like a stagger. "I Force pushed the Sith Stalker out the window. That's all I did. I didn't aim him at your speeder. I didn't make him jab his lightsabers into the speeder. You're obsessed with blaming me for this when I'm not responsible. No court in the Galaxy would hold me responsible."

Xianghua glared at Silus. "You don't have a damn leg to stand on. I've heard you hounding him for a new speeder and he'd already provided you with a compromise with getting one of the speeders here at the Temple. Artorus met you half way on this when he clearly didn't have to. And then you go and pull a cheap shot like that for revenge on your damned speeder? Who's immature? One of the two of you compromised the other didn't."

I stood straight. I could...should have punched him in the face for hurting Xianghua. We'd both had our issues in the past but she was practically family to me. And he'd hit her! He deserved for me to knock all his teeth out. But Xianghua was standing right there, and...launching myself at Silus for this didn't feel right with her right now.

"Get out of my sight," I said. "The only reason you're on your feet right now is because Xianghua is here. Forget what I said about the damned Mandalorian. If you ever hurt her again you'll have both me and Keyan to deal with. You understand me?"

Good grief, I hated it when I had to fight in two seperate arguments at the same time. It got so confusing.

    "I--what--how--but--GRRAAHH!"

"Can I be of assistance?" one of the protocol droids asked as it approached.

In my frustration, I grabbed the droid's head and smashed my own against it with enough impact to visibly dent the metal. That was when I realized what I did.

"That was really stupid," I slurred out. And that was when I collapsed unconscious...

    Xianghua

I blinked at the sight before me. Still unsure of what exactly had happened. One moment arguing with Silus...the next he'd just K.O.d himself on a protocol droid. I forced my eyes from the prone form of Silus and the befuddled droid to Artorus. He looked equally dumbfounded. He kept scratching the back of his head and his eyes darted back and forth as if trying to piece together what had just played out.

"You know I don't think I'll tease you anymore about not dealing with your problems in a healthy manner," I said. "At least you've never done that."

    "Yeah," he said.

"I mean...I sort of feel bad about both of us going after him but after what he did..."

    "Yeah..."

"If he'd kicked you like that during the fight it wouldn't have bothered me. You might fight dirty but that was a cheap shot."

    "That droid..."

"I mean he physically harmed himself rather than confront what he'd just did."

    "Yeah..."

"I can't believe someone would do something like that."

"Actually it's not that big a deal, we'll get a hammer and bang that dent right out. It won't be a problem."

I raised a brow at Artorus, he shrugged. "Well that droids head is dented. I feel bad for it. As for the guy that did it...looks like he's his own worst enemy. I'm not healing him."

Ordinarily I would have lectured Artorus on compassion and on helping people even if he didn't think that they deserved it. But after everything that had just happened....I found myself strangely on his side. Silus didn't look like he was going to die, or suffer any serious injuries from his boneheaded move. I didn't see the point in fighting with Artorus to get him to revive the guy.

    "You hungry?" I asked him.

    "Starving."

"Let's go find something to eat, maybe Keyan can meet us."

I started walking, expecting Artorus to fall into step beside me. I'd gotten out of the room when I realized he was several feet behind, still staggering and walking rather bow legged. I sighed, stepped back and put his arm around my shoulder. "You really have a way with people you know that?"

"Yeah..." Artorus grunted. "Yeah I do."

    Dorian

Sareth, Keyan and I were left baffled by the shouts and bangs coming from one of the corridors. After exchanging a few glances with the other two I decided to go check it out. As I walked further through the Temples corridors the shouts ceased. I couldn't think what it might be. Ordinarily I would have assumed it to be the Mandalorian, but this time it was impossible. So who could it have been? Whoever it wa sthey sounded like a pack of wild beasts.

Then I bumped into two people as I came around the corner. One let out a slight moan. It was Artorus. And by the looks of it he wa sin pain. Beside him stood Xianghua, her arm wrapped around his shoulders. Both casually and supporting him. I stared behind them, a spats of blood all ove rthe floor that travelled around the next corner.

"What the kriff happened?" I exclaimed with my mouth gaping open at the bruised and bloody. Artorus looked like he had just went one on one with a Felucian Bull Rancor! But he still managed to keep that smug demeanor that he always held. "Artorus are you OK?"

"Well I..." I started but noticed both Keyan and Sareth coming too. I knew the Senator had been about to leave so for her to be here meant she was genuinely concerned. "I was training with some dueling droids, I guess I got carried away and set the levels up too high for me. Xianghua came to help. Silus got in the way and got himself knocked out by one of them. Nice of him to try and help though...now if you'll excuse me there's some bacta calling out...Artorus, Artorus, come to meeeeee...."

ooc: Actually, they use kolto right now...

    Silus

"You're mistaken," I groaned from the floor. I'm lucky that I have a miraculous recovery ability. "Actually, the kolto tanks are calling my name. I don't think they'd give you the time of day."

Pulling myself, staggering a bit, to my feet I clumsily made my way to the group.

"Sareth!" I said as I approached. "I dealt with Artorus here, all six--no, make that seven of them. Now, I need an ice-pack, so if you'll excuse me..."

ooc: Shoot. I can't believe I made that mistake with bacta. I knew that they used kolto...my brain just died.

    Artorus

Everybody was staring at me and then looking after Silus. Sareth had a raised eyebrow, Keyan had his hands crossed and was tapping his foot as if that would make the explanation come faster. I was for once glad that Xianghua had been there for the whole thing because otherwise I would be getting the same looks from her.

"I just want to say...and Xianghua can back me up on this....he did that on his own. Seriously. You should see the droid he took on."

I wasn't one to get confused. But I was right now. What in space was going on? Obviously there was some fight between the two, and I really couldn't ay which I beleived. I didn't know either well enough to say if they were telling the truth or not. However it was Xianghua that swayed it. She was the only one I really knew. And I knew that she could be quite bitter around Artorus and Silus. So the fact that she was helping Artorus and backing up his story led me to beleive him over Silus. Although there was no question about it that Silus needed medical attention. What confused me even more was why he headbutted a droid. I mean that's a little harsh, and a little foolish too.

"I believe you Artorus." I said with a nod. "However both of you need some kolto treatment. You both look pretty beat up. After we get you both fixed up we can get this sorted out." I glared at Silus. I couldn't believe that he had let himself stoop like this again. Although I couldn't help but feel sorry for him. I turned to Sareth. "Senator, where are the kolto tanks?"

"I'm fine," I said. "You can ask Keyan or Xiang, I've taken worse beatings than this. I just need some time for a healing trance and I'll be gung ho to fight another day. I really should turn those droids down next time I spar...ow...yeah, definitely need a lower setting.

"I'll take him to a room," I said. "Silus can have all the kolto he needs. After that we'll need to decide about going on our mission. I want to have a look at the Green Dragon before I decide whether or not I want to fly in her. Keyan's starship repair skills leave something to be desired."

"You better not have hurt my baby," I muttered as I looked at Keyan.

"Sure." I said giving Artorus a small pat on that back, "Just make sure you take care of yourself buddy. I'm all for good will and giving everybody a chance, but even I doubt we will do very well on this mission with a cripple!"

I smiled, and moved over to Silus, who was being helped up by one of Sareths men. "Silus..." I said slowly, "Get yourself fixed up." I couldn't say anymore to him. So I turned, and followed Xianghua and Artorus. I figured they wanted to spend some quality time with each other, talking about childhood memories, but I didn't fancy staying with Silus, and he needed treatment in a kolto tank anyways. And plus I was interested in seeing the Green Dragon after hearing so much about her.

    Silus

Dorian didn't have to tell me twice as I stumbled down the hall to the infirmary. At the time I didn't pay attention, but now that I think about it I'm pretty sure I was considering setting up sparring sessions with Artorus. Dorian didn't have to tell me twice as I stumbled down the hall to the infirmary. At the time I didn't pay attention, but now that I think about it I'm pretty sure I was considering setting up sparring sessions with Artorus. I'm pretty confident that thought was caused from the blunt trauma to my head...I think. Either way, the wound wasn't too bad, it only took a couple of spritzes from a can of kolto-spray to stop the bleeding. Unfortunately, the bruise itself would take at least a day to clear up. I wasn't too concerned about it though, I'd had worse.

Glancing over, I'd noticed Artorus had followed me in and had wobbled his way to a chair. Taking a quick check around the room to make sure the room was empty I turned toward him.

"Alright, now I'm going to be completely honest with you," I said. "The reason I hate you so much is because when you went to play hero in the Mandalorian Wars several of my closest friends followed you--not Revan, you.

"When I heard you'd come back, and alone, I wanted to tear you apart myself," I continued. "It was only because Master Zhar beat some sense into me that I didn't do just that. But I've never forgotten the fact that if you hadn't gone to war my friends might still be alive. That's the truth, and I only told you this because it's between you and me, nobody else. Are you satisfied?"
