I'm a digital artist, and I've been using Photoshop to create my work ever since I got into drawing digitally. Recently however, I've started using Paint Tool SAI more, and I really like it a lot.

Which programs do you use to draw? Which ones are your favourite and why?

I use Photoshop for almost everything.
For video it's after effects.

For instagram stuff photoshop will do just fine.

But freehand drawing on the iPad Pro for example, you can look into sketchbook or apps like that. They're quite impressive.

I've heard that Paint Tool Sai is the best when it comes to drawing with a wacom tablet. I don't think it's a great software when it comes to special effects though. Not an expert, but I assume that a mix of softwares does the trick? First draw it up on SAI and then do some fine tuning and effects on photoshop? The only potential problem I see are different file types? So you'd need to be able to save your file as psd in SAI I think?

I have been using Affinity Photo and Designer for a few months now, and I can't wait to try a wacom tablet with it - curious to see how well or poorly it works.

You're making me feel really old and out of touch with technology with all those programs you're mentioning (that I haven't heard of). I've only ever used Photoshop and it's all I've ever needed. I guess it's worth checking out the ones you mention. You never know, I might like them as well.

I've had the pleasure for a year now to use Adobe Photoshop under a subscription and comparing it against Affinity Photo. They're both great programs. They both feel the same. But I am still muscle-memory in Photoshop and just love it for the quick stuff. That said, Affinity Photo is a great replacement and I am using it more and more. i can't believe how professional that app is compared to photoshop and how much I am using it - once the photoshop subscription expires or i can't afford it anymore, I am switching 100% because it will easily replace it.
