So I plan on using Xenfan's migration services as my heart can't handle moving from one host to another. I just get way too nervous.

Anyhow, before that I need to find a new host. Currently I'm paying around 45 bucks a month and service is good but I need more disk space and transfer amount. Now I'm using about 4 gig of disk space and 40 gig of transfer a month.

I'm thinking of Servint. Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

Hi iardon, I am happy to see you on our site and am looking forward helping you. What kind of hosting plan do you have now? Do you have access to the data via a shell (SSH)?

Right now I'm on a premium shared host (medialayer). I do believe I have SSH access. While I plan on moving, my billing cycle doesn't end till the beginning of April. So I have some time to research hosts. Once I settle on one, sometime in March I'd like you to migrate my forum.

Looking forward to hear from you - make sure the new host has shell access, it will make management so much easier :) If you want to go with a control panel, I recommend cpanel over plesk or the other stuff out there.

With shell access on the current one we can better export and zip up the data on the box itself, and wget transfer it quickly to the new setup - from it's shell. Speeding the move up quite dramatically.
