It's 2017, it's time to embrace modern tech and this means your mom and your sister and your dog, should all move away from old faded and blurry low resolution monitors with poor latency.
For just a couple hundred bucks you can upgrade to 2k and 4k monitors with lower than 10ms latency. they also offer newer USB (3 or C) ports and you will enjoy gaming as well as movies/tv a lot more.
Haven't upgraded in a handful of years, but don't want to do away with your current system just yet? Treat yourself and those around you on a new monitor.
Once you go retina, you don't want to go back. It's like moving from HDD to SSD for drives, it's just so much better.
Rumor: Apple was out of the monitor market, we were told, but it seems a bigger screen at 8K is perhaps an upgrade option for the Pro machines end of year, or during 2018. I am excited about that.
