Okay, I will admit, I might want to buy a PS4

There's this new Playstation 4 Pro out? I dunno, I am so out of this console market. Just hanging out in Minecraft on the Mac or play a few stupid games on the iPad, is more than enough.

But daaaamn when I see a few gameplay videos of things like the last of us, and that sorta exclusive to ps4 titles, I really can't wait to just sit down one summer and play those.

Seeing how i don't really have any friends, and certainly not anybody with a ps4, I might just go ahead at some point and buy a ps4 pro with a few games. And then just sell it after a year.

Am I making a mistake? Should I get certain games?

Oh, another point, I do not have a tv, my last "television" was a CRT that's big and beautiful, if you are born in 1977 like me. But I don't have a 65" 4k uhd tv thing with hdmi ports, etc. I watch my tv shows and movies on my iMac, and plan to continue to do so. But the iMac does not have a second monitor, nor a hdmi connection. So adding a ps4pro to it seems to be impossible.

When I get a new console, it means I have to not just pay 60 bucks for a game, but also few hundred to a thousand for a good quality 4k monitor. blargh.

Maybe the new iMac might get an input port? Probably not.. Anybody have any thoughts on a monitor for my perhaps possibly ps4pro?

We have a ps4 in the house and it's great fun. You can get some amazing games for it these days. The graphics are awesome and minecraft is fun.

I saw it in the store, the pro, and i saw an awesome colorware retro design for it today too.
And I looked at my wallet and it was super zero nope nope nope.
Sigh, so hard to not buy things :/ i almost did, wouldn't have been smart

Two of my favourite games at the moment have to be 'Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration' and 'Resident Evil Biohazard'. The graphics on Tomb Raider are amazing, not so good on Resident Evil, but god damn it's scary.

I will very likely get the tomb raider one. I got the ps1 with it, I have to get it again.
I sorta wanna play a story line adventure thing like the last of us.

Minecraft for console kinda sucks, compared to the pc/mac version. I know kids love it, but, it's just not the same.

I'm very tempted as well. I want it for VR. I know VR still sortof sucks but I want it anyway!

Also I just like buying things.

I have no depth perception, VR is going to be a gimmick to me. I haven't found one yet where I go "oh geesh, i am in the game" it is just double screen close to my eyes.

I've always bought both consoles from a generation, nothing really grabs me on the PS4 at the moment though

There's lots of great exclusives on the PS4, Floris. It's also a great entertainment system. I would definitely get it. I have both the PS4 and Xbox One and I use my Xb1 more due to my girlfriend as that's her console of choice and FPS games play just a tad bit better on there (IMHO) but the PS4 is FANTASTIC for exclusive titles and even some 3rd party non-FPS titles as well.

Definitely worth a buy if you're strongly considering a purchase. If you have a 4K tv, I would definitely go for the PS4 Pro model.

I guess if I buy a new monitor for my future computer system, that I will have to guarantee HDMI ports for game consoles. So I can connect the Nintendo Switch for example, and a PS4Pro.

Do you own an Xbox One? The Xbox One has an HDMI-In port on the back of it. I use that to piggy-back my 360 as my TV only has 4 HDMI ports, with the One, it allows me 5. Just an idea.

Nope. My last console was the xbox360, but that's dead. I only played like two or maybe three games on it. Before that I had a Playstation 1. The xbox360 didn't really give me the wow factor. I haven't had a HD tv except my iMac monitor. And I have not played on consoles much since. So the ps4pro and a nice 4k+ monitor should give me a nice wow factor when I play uncharted, the last of us, etc. Looking forward.

I would not mind a custom build of a glass case with proper cable management below the tv that is mounted on the wall. With a speaker set around it

having it stacked in 4 consoles, like a Media server, xboxOne, ps4pro, and the switch. 2x2

You'd be able to yes. However, like Xbox Live, PS4 now requires a subscription to play Online, it's $49.99 USD a year.
