Aside from the obvious ones (chrome, excel, etc) what programs do you use on a regular basis that you would be unable to survive without?

Mine are:
  • Coda - code editor
  • TotalSpaces2 - gives my my "spaces grid" like the old osx versions had
  • Bartender - puts all those menu-bar icons in a aggregated icon
  • iTerm 2 - better Terminal
  • itsycal - a menubar calendar - nothing fancy
  • Caffeine - keeps the mac awake for X hours if I want to disable hibernating quickly
  • AdiumX - just a chat client
  • BetterTouchTool - good hack for mice with browser buttons
  • vmware fusion - for when I want to play old legacy windows games (AOE2)
  • Karabiner Elements - a nice tool for remapping my keyboard (I change the functionality of Caps Lock -> ESC)
  • f.lux - because it's flipping awesome
What are yours?

Not answering your question just yet, but from the list that you've posted I have 90% of those apps. From which I only use a few, but I use them daily.

iTerm, of course.
vmware fusion (when needed)
f.lux (but I keep forgetting to use it)
I stopped using AdiumX, too many issues with privacy and security, and everybody moved to iMsg and WhatsApp or FB msgs anyway.
Caffeine obviously.
Bartender, on some of my accounts (like screen recording etc)
and Coda at times, but I am still not familiar enough with it, I keep falling back to TextMate and Sublime Text

I will look into TotalSpaces2.

1Password is a must app for my osx/ios.

I used to say Dropbox, but they are losing me as a customer, I am still using it 24/7 right now, but I dunno.

I use Transmit for sftp

iA Writer for my writing.

Adobe's package like photoshop, lightroom, premiere pro and after effects

Minecraft

VLC

eeeeh... Chrome?

Open Office for its spreadsheet and other options. I've heard about drop-box and I'll try it to see if it simplifies work for me.

Doesn't iA Writer connect to drop-box?

iCloud, Medium, WordPress and Dropbox, it seems like :)
I am using iCloud, it is the smoothest experience with live updates, etc. Between the 2 iA writer apps that I have on the iPhone/iPad and the desktop version of it.
