Anyone else watching this? I loved the films and when I heard they were doing a tv series I was very anti the whole idea. What? I'm not a big fan of change

But, I've been pleasantly surprised. The fact that McG is behind it caught my attention, I do like him, so I gave it a shot... and I love it. It's retained the comedy element of the films, but have changed the characters just enough to make it fresh while keeping it recognisable to fans of the films.

Recommended watching!

I cannot imagine after knight rider and the a team being so terrible as a revamp, that this will not be such a disappointment. Is it actually worth trying for a guy like me? McG was a huge influence on my childhood, together with the other shows (as corny as they are now). The kid in me has high expectations.

Well, my other half is really really hard to please - especially with remakes. But this is so worth it.

Clayne Crawford plays Riggs - they've kept the wife dead, he's gone nuts premise, but changed it up slightly. Where Mel was nuts, Clayne is off the reservation crazy. The differences are enough for you to not constantly compare the characters.

Damon Wayans is Murtaugh and, again, they've kept a lot of things the same, while changing it up just ever so. There are nods to the films (one episode is called Jingle Bell Glock and obviously has the Jingle Bell rock theme song which was used in the first film). They've just renewed it for a second season as well (unlike the TV series of Rush Hour which was cancelled halfway through the first season!).
