Yo

Lets say i want to add some code into the footer in xenfor, like an ad etc.
I cant for my life find what files have what. For example if i need to put in som javascript in a certain place in the footer what file should i use, and where is it located? :O

In normal html/php pages there are footer.php or index.html or php where the code structure is located but i cant find it in xenforo, its like 1 trillion files

The xenforo core engine uses a template system.
You control it via the back-end, which is at admin.php
So browse to it, click on tab: Appearance, and open the template: footer

jesus...so much for browsing in the ftp looking for files

However this is better as long as i know what file to edit

Note: there are also "ad_*..." templates, surely there's one for the footer.
