A while ago I saw a trailer for American Gods on Youtube, and it looked really interesting. However, after watching the first episode, I felt like it was weird and strange and I couldn't make sense of any of it. I gave up immediately.

However, I had nothing else to watch and needed a break from re-watching 9 seasons of Seinfeld. I spotted American Gods again and saw the list of casts, and the social media stream had nothing but good to say about it. I had to give it another try. My mood was also different, and it's completely different to Seinfeld. I gave it another go.

After watching episode 2, which explained a bit more what the show is actually about. I watched 3. And then I got hooked. I continued watching and finished the season finale just before going to bed earlier today.

Great acting, great story telling, great characters and their setting and outfit was just fantastic. It shows our world, with a stranger world, where Gods are preparing to go to war. Sorta.

It's worth a watch if you like high quality looking tv series that are a bit stranger than the usual. But i can totally imagine someone not liking it at all, while others will love it to death. Some of the 'connecting points' for Wednesday and Shadow Moon feel weird. They just don't feel authentic. But beyond that, it all sticks together like a crazy True Blood episode, but without neck biting and fantasy porn. It's interesting. If you think you might not like it, give it a try anyway, but stick through the first few episodes, just so things make more sense. I had fun watching it, and I didn't expect to finish season one in literally one day.
