Apple Care, really worth it?

It's $175 for the iMac right now, and $350 for the MacBook Pro, and $100 for the iPhone ..
Geesh, so much, and I think you still pay a bit of money for replacing some things like a battery or a screen.

I don't know if it is really worth it.

Care to share your apple care experiences and how it helped you or not at all? Maybe that will give me a better impression if I should use the money for a high quality protection case or whatever, or for apple care.

They answer the most stupidest of questions (newb here) and are so helpful and if anything went wrong ... omg... not worth thinking about!! What if you can't fix it yourself. What would you then do Floris?
