I'm waiting to move it over to XenForo.

I haven't settled on a new design yet. I haven't settled on a few things...but I'm getting closer playing with the dev board and test import. so far I like it.

A design is not really needed, but customizing it to add your brand colors is. And I believe it's quite easy to do so.

We are talking 1.3 million...so small in most aspects.

I want a nice design like the folks at wtf.com

I can imagine. That design is pretty nifty. I really like the bright simple interface myself, so applying what they have to light, might be really interesting. However, their dark theme is really nice.

1 to 2 million posts is significant. Congrats on the amount of content and good luck with the convert. Keep us posted.

I've started my attempts to find a decent designer. Most want 1500+...ouch!
