So what will Christmas hopefully be like for you this year?
What do you want gift wise?
Who will you spend it with?
Will you be in Lockdown?
How different will it be due to Covid this year?

it is weird without my father making christmas dinner. I honestly dont even remember how last year went, all a blur.

I think this year i want to spend time with my mother a few days, even if it's just a few hours. just so she isn't all alone.

But the rest of the time i hope to just be in bed and watch tv movies until my birthday :)

This is one of those years that I am not looking forward to anything actually. The pandemic messed the Halloween spirit and with the scare of a second wave, am looking forward to a boring indoor Christmas.

Giftwise, i would wish someone to bless me with a PlayStation 5 or Xbox- X...that is all i have been telling Santa the who year, hope he was listening. With that, we can stay safely indoors and still have some fun competing with my siblings.

So Boris is talking about the lockdown here and the measures of releasing it on the 2nd December today with the Christmas rules as well. So hoping to be able to know who I can see this year today so I can plan everything better. I doubt my present day with my brothers family will go ahead on the 19th so might have to rearrange to the 24th!! It's present day as they Jehovah so don't do Christmas but as I do it's called present day with no Christmas cards or wrapping paper. All wrapping paper is plain and simple stripes or stars so as not to confuse their boys on the day.

I know Christmas is bound to be a strange one this year for a lot of people. My family celebrates it on the smaller side normally so it won't be an issue assuming my oldest brother can make it into town on time. We usually do Christmas Eve as well for gifts and such. Christmas day is more about a family meal and just catching up.

Well, I'll be staying in with my family and do our traditional holiday stuff, Watching a Christmas Story, wrapping gifts, eating too much food, etc. I still need to put up the tree. I'm just too lazy to do it lol.

Will be spent just with my immediate family living in the same house. Our families decided not to come over for Christmas and just have a nice close-knit Christmas. We will be having a video call in the evening with everyone though!

Yep, I'm no longer able to host my planned vegan Christmas meal with friends as we're now in tier two here.

Being safe this year is the gift I guess, and being able to spend it with family where possible, helps too. I think it's fine to make some compromise. But it won't be the same.

In 2018 I lost my cat, so christmas feels a little bit more lonely.
In 2019 I lost my father, that christmas was a blur.
In 2020 we have covid and anxiety for all, it won't help.

I might just do very subtle little things when I can, and enjoy where possible. Chill time is a good time.

The same here, we're having talks about trying to get things under control. It's not working in my opinion, but everybody is trying to be optimistic. They are reviewing what is possible during christmas this year. Regardless, our family kind of agreed that we will skip christmas dinners, enjoy it with ourselves at our own home. Or just one person with my mom. And then go for coffee together, within the max that is allowed to be there. We will just spread christmas over a few days. I am alone most christmasses and i think this year might just be a tiny bit more lonely. It's weird.

Gift wise, uhm, I hope you have a lot of fun with the ones that can be there. It's worth it. Money is so tight this year around, I don't know if I can gift anything to my family this year. Just how it is.

Christmas story! True, I didn't think of that yet. What movies will I watch this year. I have to watch something for nostalgia reasons though.

For the UK information is starting to be released for Christmas lockdown rules.

Bit early. Things can change a lot in just 2 weeks. They're informing us on 8th of December here I think.

Yeah, good thinking. We try to stay in touch with my mom during the week, but maybe this Christmas we can make a bit more of an effort.

Oh no, that's a shame to hear. Hopefully you guys can come together spring time for a family dinner or something.

Fingers crossed.

Sorry to hear that, don't let it discourage you. I think we all have to make the most of the current situation.

Yeh, it's a bummer, but, I rather have christmas with family who didn't catch covid in a few years, than not. A sacrifice sometimes has to be made. But it's a huge bummer.

Just because it's family, make sure you still keep your distance. No need to start hugging and kissing everybody. It only takes one unlucky event to change everything.

Yes that's correct but here in New Zealand we have living almost normal life as we have very strong defense system against virus because of manage isolation and quarantine means only source of virus comes through border. We have tracing app which help us to fight against virus very easily and good thing is we have less population as among them 40% lives in Auckland.
