Does having a forum on your website help you to get more traffic from the search engines because of all the new and constant content?

I think that it might have an impact. Of course I'm no expert, but I am guessing that the people who will be logging onto your site constantly throughout the day count when it comes to the search engines.

Having a forum does help. It just doesn't help as much as it used to. There are still old-school posters left though, who go to chat forums because that's how they're used to socializing about things that interest them.

I think having a forum is a great way to drive traffic to a web site.
If you sell a product, the support for it means great Google results, a knowledge base, and personal interaction.
