A recent fascinating discovery of hominin remains in caves in South Africa reveal that a plausible precursor to Homo sapiens actually lived side by side with the present day human. The findings relate that Homo naledi may have established cultural norms long before it was believed possible by anthropologists. This prehistoric cousin of ours, with part human, part apelike anatomy, may have even buried its dead! Take a look:
