Tried to upgrade to 1.1.1 but hit overwrite on everything instead of merge in FTP

Trying to back it up right now... 900 members and 10,000 posts, hope I didn't lose everything!

XF really NEEDS 1 click upgrading, 1 click addons would be spectacular too!

I don't see the problem, I do an overwrite all the time? (With the upgrade package of course)

Had you edited a lot of files? I don't do that.
Also, what FTP Program are you using?

I don't see how the problem can be XenForo's?


And I wish you the best of luck with returning it and not losing too much content, as that really would suck

I have Transmit for the Mac, from panic.com
I set the preferences for per file transfer to
merge directories, overwrite files.
And the batch conflicts to merge dirs, overwrite files,
For both uploading and downloading.

Yeah my site is live again, kind of afraid to try the upgrade again though lol

Get the _upgrade.zip package for 1.1.1, after making a backup of your site of course.
Upload the files, merging the directories, overwriting the files.
Then go to the site via the browser and run the upgrade script.
Other existing files have to remain in place, so don't overwrite the directories, but merge them.

All should be fine.

This ! There's difference between upgrade package and install package .

Yeah I did the upgrade correctly this time. Kind of a d'oh moment.
