Feel free to read this, learn from it, or use it on your site (link back to xenfans wouldn't hurt).

Inform your users with short mini tutorials - introducing them to the new features.

Please note we have extended documentation here: http://xenfans.com/pages/documentation/ (but you can't just copy that over)

A personal status update :)
Every member has a personal public social profile from where you can leave messages, get comments by friends and members, have an overview of 'who you are', and your community activity. Additionally you can leave a short personal message known as a status update.

The status update can let your followers and members know what is up with you. I use it to say things like 'feeling great today', or 'working on the forums'. I invite you to set yours once in a while. Trust me your friends are curious to hear how you are today or what you are doing.

A quick way to set your status update is by clicking on your name in the navigation bar at the top of the page, the account dropdown will have a status update input field at the bottom.

Your status updates are listed on your public profile and the latest one shows in every post you made. When someone clicks on your avatar the member card mentions it.

More about profile cards and status updates can be found here: http://xenfans.com/pages/documentation/

Click on the Avatar :)
The new forum has a new post layout as well. A lot of clutter has been removed, but the extra information is still there - and well organized.

Clicking on the nickname or avatar in most places will give an overlay; a member profile card.

The card has a bigger avatar, more personal information, the post count, and the latest status update of that user. And of course a link to the full public social profile.

If you think someone makes good content, why not click on the avatar and click on 'follow'. Befriend the person and check out their profile to see what else they've been doing?

User Titles Explained
You might have noticed that the old user titles some members had are replaced, or that you got a new one. We've introduced a new system, and with it comes a few changes. A few user-titles are only for team members, some have a growing ladder - and are for registered members.

In a post on the left, or on your members profile card, or on your social profile you will notice it mentioning either Member, Premium Member, or Trusted Member. And for members it's split up between new, active, well-known .. (and a few we're not disclosing yet).

You can 'earn' your titles quite simple.

Once registered you're a Member, and based on the amount of Trophy points you've collected your title can be New Member > Member > Active Member > Well-Known Member > (few secret ones here).

Once you hit 250 or more posts, or you donate to the community with an Account Upgrade, you can get Premium Member, which is limited to our most valued premium community users.

A Trusted Member is user on the wetalk team, a staff member. Also known as moderator. You can ask them questions, get help, or report abuse to them. They're here to be friendly, to help out, and to fight spam to keep the forums clean.

Custom Usertitles is currently not allowed, but .. we're working on something. Only a handful of lukcy people will get a custom user title.

You can find more information about trophy points here: http://wetalknation.net/help/trophies
And on your social profile you will find out how many trophy points you already have!

Alerts
You might have noticed that in the navigation bar, top right, there is an alerts box. And while you're browsing there might be a red number alert popping up. The same for the one on the left of it; the Inbox. These alerts are personal, and relevant to your content. And we call these: Alerts.

There are alert preferences you can set from your account which help you limit which type of alerts are displayed.

The alert box shows alerts to you if you are quoted, if someone replied to a thread you're subscribed to, or if you received a Like for something you've posted. You can also get alerts for activity on your social profile, or if you've received an achievement (like a new trophy point).

You can test this out quite easily. Just post in the web site, and someone will reply or quote you, perhaps like your content, or maybe you unlock a trophy. It's always worth keeping an eye on your alerts.

An overview of all your alerts can also be found here: http://wetalknation.net/account/alerts

And don't worry if you have missed an alert, your social profile gathers up all your posts, replies, and received trophies.

Thank you for Mini Tutorials! Actually I do not like to read any tutorials. I am always feeling very uncomfortable and bored when I ought to read tutorials. That is why I prefer Mini Tutorials! ;)
