Each day I go to the admin panel and review accounts in the queue. Our registration system is technically turned off. We auto decline usernames we don't recognize, and auto decline any account that has been flagged by the stop spam filter.
And yet, bots go 'we should still sign up', silly things.
So, as a hobby, I just sit here (and on many other sites) blocking IP and Email ranges (where appropriate).
It's a fun battle, a nice time waster, I say sarcastically. haha.
Anyway, we just had 12 on here, and nearly 1200 on another site! And even when bots succeed (which they didn't by the way), I still wonder: "If it is spam, and it's clearly spam, why would anybody still click on any of the links they post? Plus, we remove the spam anyway within minutes, hours, .. "
Oh well, it gives us something to do I guess.
