Some randomly boring thread about my little bike rides

Thursday, 11 pm, 20 minute bike ride for 4 km.

The weather was nice, but it was windy. And now that it's dark outside it felt cold. It was however kinda nice that my bike's fixed and I am trying to get on an almost daily schedule again of having a quick little ride.

I tend to listen to some songs, or a podcast, sometimes be in a facetime call with someone.

Friday, midnight, another 20 minutes, but a bit over 4 km this time.

The weather was okay, no wind, but the air itself was pretty cool. My fingers didn't enjoy it without gloves. It was a little darker than I liked, making it harder to spot the path being uneven and stuff.

It was easy, and the same time and distance made me feel that with my bad knees from the fall earlier this year that it's for now the upper limit. And it motivated me to try and not skip a day.

Saturday, past midnight, actually..

... I remembered an hour ago I forgot to go for a ride. I went to sleep and woke up 5 minutes later and couldn't sleep anymore. The plan was to get up and just go for a ride. Instead, I got distracted by something that felt more important and now it's suddenly 4:20 am.

My knees - i feel them; The extra walking and extra biking, while also keeping up with the cleaning in the apartment (as little as I did), it results in my knees telling me they're aware. What it does help with is my lower back. The extra body-moving-around is helping.

So, to be home again by 5 am, I will write this here now and jump on my bike. Even if it's just for 2km and 5 minutes, but, I aim for more of course.

Let's see how it goes.

Edit, 18 minutes and 4.2 km. A bit more distance, and a bit faster. It went surprisingly smooth.

Not sure if I want to purposely not ride tomorrow, or push and ride and see how it goes. I guess it will depend on headaches, etc.

Sunday evening, I have decided I will go for another bike ride, but I will purposely make it half the distance. So I dont lose motivation when I should do it again tomorrow. But instead of not doing anything, I will at least do something.

Back home I had a slower time, because I got a call and went slower, haha. But i went. 17 minutes, 3,1 km.

Today was the first day that I wanted to ride twice, to get the same distance, which worked! I took the long route to the store and that was just over 2km and 2km back the other way around.

Tomorrow hopefully two rides again, we will see how offline goes first. If weather allows it I might do an extra one or two km tonight.

The plan was a shower, a nap, then ride bike, watch tv and go back to bed.

And I got sucked into what I was watching and got so tired I just went to bed and completely forgot to ride my bike.

It's fine, the day's not over yet, but I have some stuff to do, voice chat meeting and i can ride tonight - oh well, 1x not 2x, better than 0 i guess.

Wait, maybe i can just go now for 3km and see how tonight goes, you know what.. screw it, leaving now.

I went the long way around to the store, which was 2km, and the same way back, another 2km. But yes, that means i had a break in the middle.

Okay, that's 4km done for today, i honestly dont know yet if there will be another bike ride. The drizzle isn't really a motivator haha.

I woke up at at 6:30am, but the weather was stormy, rainy - i didn't feel like going for a ride in the rain and risk a cold and having to wash my clothes i just washed again.

Friday I went for a small bike ride to the shop, I had to go. But I tracked it anyway.

It was only 2km, with a break at the shop. But still.

The other days the weather has been harsh and I had a snotty nose, I didn't want to risk a cold. It looks like the weather is nicer this weekend before it gets worse again. I will see how far I get with this wind today. My knees hurt, which plays a factor as well with the distance. But I hope to report back that Saturday/Sunday I had a ride as well.

Quick update, went for a quick 1.75 km ride, made sure i kept a swift pace. Lovely weather, painful knees. Back home again, if i can't sleep later ill hop on again

Back home, 4,3 km - time was a bit longer because i also had a facetime call with nix and i try to go a bit slower to not make mistakes in traffic

4.7 km for 22m in the dark. It was a lot colder, but it was kinda nice. No annoying wind or rain. (thursday morning)

2nd ride today, 3.6km / 20 minutes. i had a bit more trouble seeing properly in the dark, i took it easy. it was nice weather - just chill.

The plan was to jump on the bike but it was quite windy, very wet weather (but no rain) and my belly was somewhat upset. I've convinced myself to stay in bed.

3.6 km - great weather, i wish i could do 10km .. but this is what i could handle in the dark and with my knee. Better something than nothing!

Sunday night, a windy mini storm passed and it was just tiny raindrops. It was a nice temperate so I decided to finish my tea on the balcony now that I was warm under the layers of tea and clothing that I would jump on my bike for a little ride. It was wetter than I liked, and it was pretty dark, I had trouble seeing. So I played it safe by going slower, easy route and shorter. I thought it would be just 2km but it was 2.97km, so basically 3, fine by me! It's 'extra' for today anyway. Together with 3,6 from this morning that's over 6km for today.

We will see how tomorrow goes, I anticipate more offline bad news to just pile on, so it really depends on how bad it is, how busy it keeps me and how much my anxiety gets. Fingers crossed it will be an easy day.

Yes, but not meaningful, and I forgot to record 2, so i didn't mention it. The other days my headaches and almost not sleeping kinda ruined the nightly rides, i didn't want to risk accidents in the dark because my eyes make it hard to focus.

Woops, forgot to write it down again.

2 days ago I did a 1 km to the store, which was effort for that day. And 1 km back. (so just over 2km total)

Yesterday I did a 2,5 km to a shop in town, and then 2,5 km back. It was easier than the shorter one from the day before. (just over 5km total)

The temp is pretty low today, but maybe I will find the motivation to take a break and get fresh air.
