Intro to Programming in Java by Dean & Dean.

Usually I like to read O'Reilly published books for all my programming dire. But, as considered by my college as "required", I decided to buy this book out an give it a try. Thus far I haven't had trouble with it and I find it a clear read.

I'm not reading any book at moment. I need suggestions.

This all depends on what you like to read. Personally I read all genres of books so I'd love to give you personal recommendations for whatever genre you'd like to read. My last four books I've read (from start to finish):

+ Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury

+ The Martian Chronicles by Ray Bradbury

+ A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle

+ A Beautiful Mind: A Biography of John Forbes Nash, Jr. by Sylvia Nasar

Yea, I'm kind of a science fiction junkie.

Feel free to throw out a genre and I can assuredly give you some top-notch reads.

The Merchant of Venice by Shakespeare.

Ughhhh...

What a terrible play! I had to read that for my English coursework, and I really did skip to the summary. I hate that play so much. Shakespeare was meant to be a pioneer. However, I feel that most of his work is just uninteresting to the modern being..

Solitude: A philosophical encounter by Philip Koch. Honestly, too many examples and references. The schoolteacher in him really, really shows. I'm hooked! Stop quoting people, it's distracting as hell!

A philosophy of solitude by John Cowper Powys.

Yes, there is a theme here.

If you're into the whole psychology thing, I'd suggest the 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene. Really good book, and it offers an interesting perception on human nature. I only read the smaller shortened edition.

I can confirm that Choke is a fairly epic book.

Ach, the ending of Choke was rubbish. Was a pretty ok book tbh, Chuck's written better.

Im reading a Twilight fanfiction (All Human Out of Character) called The University of Edward Mason. Its pretty good, I've read it before but it got pulled as it is going to be published into a real book now. But I love it as a fanfic. I dont think it will be the same without Bella and Edward! Its a good enough story, full on romancey shit but draws you in.

I am sure I can not hide it from all my friends and family, but I am not going to promote it. ;)

It's a book called Lavinia which my sister got for me for christmas, it's a really odd style of writing, told in the first person with no discernible paragraphs, this makes it very hard to say "right, i'll read 5 chapters today" like i would with other books.

It's based all off the poem, The Aeneid, which I've never read, and the book is based on the life of a character from this poem, and told from her perspective, not, as the book quotes "by her poet".

Edit, wikipedia page on the character from the poem; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lavinia
