Development does not stop, and that means that XenForo Limited has a few options. They could 1) decide to batch them up and include them in version 1.2, or 2) they have a few maintenance releases to improve the stability of 1.1, while focussing on 1.2.

"Development won't stop here. We already have plans for a range of new features in XenForo 1.2 and beyond. Our attention will also return to the Big Board Search Solution and Resource Manager that we mentioned in our development update back in May." XenForo Limited. Source: http://xenfo.ro/23605
In this thread we will be publishing the maintenance releases for the 1.1 branch of XenForo.

As mentioned, maintenance releases are perhaps arguably not required to upgrade to, but we at XenFans.com believe you should. Their upgrade process is quick as the upgrade footprint is small. You fix known issues and slowly prepare your site for the next step of upgrading to 1.2.

As always, please do backup all your files, and your database. Remember, XenForo stores attachments in the /data/ directory, not backing up your files increases the risk of data loss.

Our XenFans Team has extensive experience with upgrading from any 1.0 and 1.1 version to the latest stable and unstable releases. You're free to contact us for a discussion about how we can help you.

The first 1.1 maintenance release

As mentioned above the intention with each maintenance release is to address active bugs and improve stability. XenForo Limited today announced version 1.1.1, their first maintenance release to the 1.1 series.

"This release of XenForo 1.1.1 follows our principle that third-point (x.x.X) releases should always be more stable than the preceding version, so for the most part you will not find new features in 1.1.1. Major new features will be reserved for second point versions (x.X.x)" XenForo Limited.

Besides a handful of bug fixes such as making the global rss feed more efficient, improving usability of popups on Android powered devices, fixing custom field validation on the registration page and notices, and some fixes to Internet Explorer 9, they have also made some an improvement to the notices system by introducing an option to disable scrollable notices, displaying them below each other instead.

They also mentioned the coming API change at Facebook has been addressed in 1.1.1, for 1.1.0 and 1.0.4 users please see the post below this one for more details.

XenFans.com has been upgraded to 1.1.1 prior to this post.

The Facebook Patch

Those who don't want to upgrade to 1.1.1 just yet, but run 1.0.4 or 1.1.0, there's a patch out addressing the Facebook API changes issue.

"This week, Facebook plans to make an API change that will break logging in via Facebook for users in XenForo 1.0.x and 1.1.0" XenForo Limited.

Source: http://xenfo.ro/24731

Note that you have to run 1.0.4, older versions will have to upgrade to at least 1.0.4 to fix this. Of course, we recommend to upgrade to 1.1.1 because it's the latest stable version of XenForo.
