Slimming World

    Soo, Last year I was following the Slimming World eating plan. I lost a little bit of weight but then health reasons got in the way. This year I need to get back on track. I follow people on Instagram and Facebook that are on the eating plan and share recipes and their stories etc, which I find helps keep me in the mind set of not forgetting I need to do this. I even try to blog when I can remember to do so as I find this makes me in some way accountable.

    Are there any people here that have or are doing Slimming World and if so what do you think of it and how do you stay on track?

    I'm kinda doing it.. sorta lol.... I don't need to lose weight myself, but my other half does and as I'm the cook in our household (because I was so very bad in a past life and deserve to be punished - I hate cooking!) I'm the one who prepares the menus and food. We're a large family so I feed the kids separately and then feed him and me Slimming World friendly food.

    He's lost just under 2 stone in 2 months.. another four or so to go (yes, he's very overweight!).

    It also helps that his mum is a Slimming World Co-ordinator, so we have someone at the end of the phone if I need help/suggestions.

    A good site - if you haven't come across it - is http://www.slimmingeats.com/blog/ - she offers weekly menus, recipes and I have to admit, some of her meals are bloody gorgeous!

    WOW that's pretty amazing! Is he exercising more too or just the change in diet?

    No exercise at all, so far. Just the change in diet - cut out all sugary stuff, eating lots of fruit and using the Slimming World recipes.

    Her pasta bakes and curries are lush... I'm cooking her Fruity Chicken Curry for dinner tonight!

    Well back on it as of Monday...online this time, not the meetings. Taking on board what was said to me at the meetings and I was told up to 20 syns for my weight and height and health. Then as I loose weight then lower the syns slowly to up to 15 a day.

    SO far so good, the only over my syns day I had was Monday and that was just a newb mistake. For the rest I have been really good. Today, for example, I went to Sainsburys and did not come out with yum yums!!! I bought watermelon for the journey home instead!! I was seriously impressed with this lol.... Also have done more shopping and I have better foods in the house now. :D

    Oh and weigh in days are Monday mornings.

    Good to hear you're back on it. It's not new this time. So you can focus on the good stuff now as well. I am sure it will last longer this time, and you might just surprise yourself. Stay positive.

    Nice job, keep up the good work. I lost something this week, the hope that I will ever lose anything ever again. lol oh geesh. I have to step up my game.

    I think from stress of how busy I am and real life stuff .. i actually gained weight while trying to lose weight.
    Too scared to measure..

    Back on the daily walk it is once all this is behind me.

    Back on it again. Lost -2lbs in 3 days... Waiting for Mondays as they are weigh in days.
